Dave Scan is the document scanning app for Daves. It offers the simplest possible UI designed to let you do simple scanning tasks easily. You can set up 2 custom scanning pipelines S1 and S2 under settings. You can set these to: - downsample to 5MP, - do OCR (Optical Character Recognition, your first 12 reads are free), - make black and white, - forward to email - save to my photos - save to iTunes file sharing Your iPhone can read the text in an image and save or email this alongside the image. Dave Scan can do OCR (Optical Character Recognition) so it can read the text in you image if it is in the English alphabet. Your first 12 OCR reads for free.  When you have run out of free OCR reads you can buy more for $1 per 1000 OCR reads.  Our OCR engine runs on your iPhone or iPad so there are no privacy issues, nothing is uploaded to a server.  You can include the OCR of a document alongside the image of the document in an email or save locally as a PDF. You can set Dave Scan up to store images in the private directory of the app rather than in My Photos, you can see these with iTune FileSharing. You don't want private receipts turning up in My Photos.
