As of April 2017 the dictionary is updated to work well with iOS 10, but will no longer be updated. If you have a subscription on Ordnett Pluss, this dictionary can be used in a special Ordnett App. Read more on www.ordnett.no This App contains two dictionaries: Norsk ordbok (Norwegian Dictionary) and Norske synonymer (Norwegian synonyms). The dictionaries are the largest and most advanced offline dictionary of the Norwegian language for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, containing more than 100,000 headwords. The dictionaries are merged together into one dictionary showing results from both dictionaries simultaneously. In spite of its size the dictionary performs searches promptly, and the word you type emerges on a list as you gradually are keying in the letters. As the word you are searching for appears in the word list, you can immediately see the translation. If the word has several meanings, or you would like to see more details about it, you can touch the word and see all the details - e.g. synonyms, phrases and text examples, inflected forms etc. The dictionary articles contain activated crossreferences to other articles in the App. These are signified by an arrow and are highlighted in blue. The App has a history function showing previous searches. You can use wild cards: “?”designates an arbitrary character/letter, “*” designates 0 or more arbitrary characters. Also see the screen dumps, which show examples of the many different types of information you get in the dictionary.
